Meet Our Expert Team
Edward H. Fries, OD, of Decatur Eye Center in Decatur, Texas, is a specialist in glaucoma management. A believer that eyesight and nutrition are intimately connected, Dr. Fries enjoys teaching his patients of this connection, for the maintenance of normal eyesight as well as to slow or halt the progression of vision loss tied to other conditions, such as age-related eye issues or diabetes.
Dr. Fries received his degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1998. He stays up-to-date with all developments in the field of optometry, and he has pursued additional training in optical coherence tomography and autofluorescence fundus photography, among other state-of-the-art vision care technologies.
To provide top-level care for every aspect of your vision health, Dr. Fries has close ties with a retina specialist, two ophthalmologists, and a cataract surgeon. With technology more advanced than the hospitals, you can come to the Decatur Eye Center offices to expand on the eye care expertise offered by Dr. Fries and his staff.
Dr. Fries and his office are equipped with advanced technology such as ERG (Electroretinography), VEP/VER (Visual Evoked Potential/Response), and Autofluorescence Camera (We were the first practice in the state of Texas to have this technology.)
